This collection is an impressionistic journey through the beauty and movement of water in two countries close to my heart, Italy and my home country of South Africa.

Water reflects light and atmosphere in unique ways, from the shimmer of sunlight on the surface to the ripples that change with the wind. The motion and mood—from the tranquil canals of Venice to the powerful crashing waves and beautiful beaches of the Eastern Cape in South Africa—Tide and Times embodies the constant ebb and flow of water, anchored in memory, yet always in motion, shaping and reshaping the landscape over time.

Dawn and dusk have always been captivating to me, as they have to many artists throughout history. The way the golden light shifts during these times, especially when the weather changes, creates beautiful scenes of sharp, focused sunlight that mixes with the water’s reflections, forming soft hues of saffron, indigo, jade, sage green, lavender, mauve, and cobalt.
